Default Hesitation on boost

Noticed over the last couple of days that when i am in 2nd and put my fut down it starts to come on boost then it stutters and clears, like it holds back for a second, any ideas whats causing it? It only seems to happen in 2nd gear too.

Rich mine has decided to kinda do the same and its pissing me off tbh. The rev counter sometimes just idles funny and goes off the clock when you give it the beans. Sometimes it acts normal but holds back/kinda miss-fires on boost at around 4k.

Am running:

group A coil
ford motorsport (909) leads
denson ik27
Bosch 044 pump (which was re-wired)

the plugs were changed by Karl @ NMS when it was mapped and he said ill never have to mess around with gapping/changing them etc so i haven't bothered replacing them or messing around with gap. Ive inspected them & look okay.

Cleaned out the multi-plugs on the bulk head (prob just go solder them tommarrow if i get time but a bit worried if i fck it up as i dont trust meself)

Changed the rotor arm (should've done the cap but Matts out of stock at the moment)

Put new decent leads in as mentioned above.

Can't think of anything else

Funny thing is car was bang on and we went to Nobles for a rolling road meet with PF about a month ago. Drove up to Chesterfield normally but eversince they've put it on the rollers it miss-fired then and since its come off the rollers.

Kinda pissing me off but luckily ive got an M3 to calm me from the stress of it.

Any other ideas lads, anything at all would help???

cheers

Reiss

If your rev counter goes skyward and jumps around when you start boosting it points to the engine loom, it can be as simple as the loom plugs but may require a fitting of a new loom, my car had this problem and I took the loom plugs out and soldered the wires up, this lasted for about 16 months but then same problem came back, eventually put a new engine loom in and problem solved

Your rev counter could be the cause, as it is connected to the coil, they can cause the problem you describe, or cut the engine completely, so might be worth just pulling plug at coil and seeing if it still does it.

i dont understand the rev counter seems to be fine and reflecting the engine speed, when it hesitates on boost, the revs still go up, just much slower in line with the engine speed and also why would it only do it in 2nd?

Similar issue. Replaced the old phase sensor in the distributer and the fuel pressure regulator (must be 3.5 bar). No more issues in my car now.
