coil packs, closed loop, which ecu/inj? help decide please.
My car is going through a wee transformation and getting lots of new expensive parts
now i figured i may as well buy some more expensive shit so looking for advice please.
Can someone list EVERYTHING i need to go dizzyless and costs please? I see various 2nd hand bits in for sale but dont know exactly what i need.
Same again goes for closed loop please. Is this possible on my 2wd ecu which i guess is L6?
When the car eventually goes for mapping im pretty sure i'll go to Stu. I want proper live map this time with custom chip etc. I have a t34 but its only got a .48 housing. Im looking to run more hp than standard greens setup so want to buy bigger injectors. Which do i choose? Greys? Or as silky mentioned elsewhere he runs siemens 55lb. where do the siemens fit in to the injector size scale? can i run on bigger injectors at less hp due to the housing ok? or do i really need the bigger housing straight off or keep smaller injectors?
I figure that seeing as its gonna cost a bit and stu is miles away i might as well aim high and do in a oner. I'll keep car in garage as long as it takes to make the ancillaries correct so that its as good as possible.
which route should i take?
BTW only future mod might be a T38 but even then i doubt it.

You would be much better off going L8 ecu route Chop.
As for 55lbs are bigger than greys but there a more modern design so can be controlled better. If you have not bought any yet i would go for 83lb's, I know this sounds alot but if Stu is Live mapping the car it doesnt matter. Also when you want more power 6 months down the line like you will you wont have to buy another set of injectors.

you need level 8 for closed loop lambda, and coil-pack conversion is personal choice i don't have it at the moment and i'm getting no issues, but saying that i have removed and stripped my loom and made sure it 100% before i refitted it.
(I am converting to coil-pack just as fund allow)
the great thing is you can always add the coilpack conversion at a later date once your car is up and running
so all you need is a 4x4 TPS, L8 ECU, Injectors (55lb or 83lb) and no doubt STU can do you an off the shelf chip for your car without the expense of a Live-Map
And if you got the money either buy a good used 4x4 loom or a new motorsport loom with all the item you want already wired in

If doing this why bother with an antiquated ECU like a L8 ?
With the mods you want and the resultant cost it would be cheaper to have a aftermarket ecu with so many more features and much better adaptability for the future where cossie parts become obsolete.
Doing the mods you want it is in my opinion to even think about a L8, aftermarket ecu's run coilpack direct, do closed loop Al, LC in gear adjustable boost triple map etc etc etc.
Imagine it 3 years down the line your car needs a new sesnor of some sort, no longer made, can't find a decent one anywhere at any price let alone a reasonable uninflated price, what do you do, if L8 nothing end of the line!!
Aftermarket ecu, what do you do, get ANY sensor of that type of any car and it can be made to work, PERFECTLY, some even without a visit to the workshop.
Aftermarket ecu will do learn as you drive, offer fourth adaptive mapping from one load cell to another, boost control set against rpm/AND TPS, individual cylinder trims of fuel and ignition, movable speed sites down to 1RPM.
In short bin the ECU idea and go aftermarket as it's a better and B cheaper with all the bits, that a L8 can only dream of.
You would be better of asking how much power you want to end up with and work towards that goal.

10K+ Poster!!
Just save your money chop and get it al set up with what you have.
At the kind of power level your taking about buying all the stuff your on about will give either very little or zero gains.
Spend the saved cash on a roller bearing t38

Im with euan here, you could save lots of cash and still end up with roughly the same power, if your keeping the same turbo a set of greys and decent set up will do you fine, then if you opted to change turbo your greys will still do the job.

Wouldnt say there a must kev but newer is nearly always better, but more expensive for no more power, if he`s willing to splash the cash then fine, but if i was looking for a small power hike keeping my own turbo i wouldnt bother personally

i think im at the point where money versus power gain isnt really the issue. i just want a nice car with nice bits that could be modded upwards at any time.
i've got a terrible case of "i want" syndrome and at the moment im liking my car so it might well get these things! this is always subject to change on a cosworth tho ROTF
