changing rear springs on saff
i've heard a few horror stories about changing the rear springs on the sierra - any tips?? Gonna do mine on Wednesday when i'm off.

did mine recently not too bad but you could do with two people as when you drop the driveshaft away from hub and try and fit spring always gets in the way plus you might need a bit a leverage but quite straightforward hope all goes well mate

Easy job
jack the car up using the diff and a block of timber
then support the car on the rear beam to chassis mounting points on both sides of the car
loosen and remove the bolts that hold the rear struts in place now the rear suspension arm are flexible,prise them down and remove springs,insert new spring now put the jack under the rear arms and slowely jack all up again and refit the bolts do the same for the other side
thats it unless i missed something

KSA - there was a full Koni kit on the boot when i bought the car that prev owner had not fitted yet....however it turns out the fronts are 2wd so just puttin the springs on the now till i can afford shocks

I did lowering springs on my old sierra hatch back and i thought it was a bit of a chew on. I had to cut the flexy brake pipe brackets off the suspension arms remove the bolts from the rear axle and use big long bars to lever the rest of the suspension down to get the springs in and out.
