breather system

Some advise against drilling the rocker cover citing the reason as it stopping the flow of oil draining back, because pressure is coming that way.
Personally I think this is wrong, so will be drilling mine when next off.
You can get cheap decent breather kits from RATSPORT.CO.UK.

tanks for that tabetha.
i presume its one of these I need to order and a length of hose to go back to the sump.

am I right in thinking that you will drill the rocker cover putting one pipe from there into one of the catch tank tube and then the other coming out of the tank back to the sump somewhere what fittings would you use for the rocker cover and sump in order to attach the hoses?

There are three take off points on the cossie one in the kidney box(remove), one on the base oif the block the other side, and if you want to the rocker cover can be drilled.
The rocker cover does not really need to be drilled at stage 1 though to be honest, just use the two blcok ones.
The fittings can be bought at a lot of places, like burtons etc std part.
the plenum cover breather pipe will need blocking where it was connected to the kidney box, use a grub screw(allen) with a bit of sealant here.

I know nowt me, it wasn't me and I did not do it!!
I paid more for this car than I have ever paid for any other so it will be with me for at least ten years yet.
I bought it for £2700, then the next day when some dozy bint backed her 4wd into it arsing around, it had £1600 of repairs(she paid, CASH), but I paid for extra work totalling £3500, so all good for a few years yet!!

If you don't want to drill the rocker cover use for breather ports the original place (inlet side), and on the exhaust side there is a blanking plug underneather the exhaust manifold you can take out and position a second breather hose. Now you have given yourself double the breathing capacity.
For the oil return hose for your breather you can purchase (from GGR or others) goodridge fittings to return to the sump plug position. This is the best place to have the oil return as it is below the oil level, therefore no positive pressure working against the oil flow return.
GGR recommended this method to me (i didn't want to drill the rocker cover on a 3dr i had) and they also used it on RS500 touring cars.
Standard bailey setup is breathing from the rocker cover and original position, and oil return to the exhaust side of block (above oil level).
