Are you reffering to the actual timing of the cams as in lobe lift/duration etc, or just how to time them up ?
If so they are timed up with the pointers facing inwards to each other so that exhaust one is at 3 o'clock, and the inlet one at 9 o'clock, crank pulley on the LUG nearest the "V" notch, scribe line on dizzy body dead in centre of the rotor arm cutout(when removed).

Just set crank to tdc, LUG nearest "V" notch, then set cam by sight, as I assume you are going to rolling road ?
To set by sight, just note where the woodruff key is in relation to the head with the normal pulleys on, and set vernier pulleys here to "O".
There is another way and that is to remove the front cap(cam) and put a thin piece of leather on top aboyt 1" square, then just nip up cap down on it it to hold it in postion after you have timed it with std pulleys, have done this before and of course it does not mark the cam/s.
