Three door fuse box
Hi all
Does anyone know how or where to get a fuse box for a three door cossie. The fans have melted the fuse in the usual spot & a relay has melted insitu Are they fitted to any other ford that will be available.......?? Any help appreciated :top: |
I wouldnt bother with a new fuse box mate as it will prob do it again !!!! I would make a new fan loom up which will fix the problem :top:

are the wires to small? any ideas why this happens?
just curious if this is something I have to worry about on my car. not cos but is a 3door. TF |
The problem happens on cossie due to the load placed upon the system by the fan/s, ie two instead of one which the system was built for.
Extra heat around the area raises the resistance which raises the heat, which rtaises the resistance and so it goes on until something gives. The oe ford wiring is a joke on cossie fans, way better off making a sub loom for reliability, using the fan switch just to trigger relay. HEAT is the reason why they fail, and most of this is because the position is over loaded, even when in perfect order, much like vauxhall with thier HRS fuses!! tabetha |

You don't need to touch the ford wires at all!!
Just use some wire that will carry around 15 amps minimum like 28/030, they ONLY bit you need is the fan switch connector, mount the new relay in a holder on the inner wing near battery, live from battery to relay, out to fans, make other connections easy job do it in hour. Put fuse between relay and battery with in line fuse holder, take your time make it look neat. Tape up old ford wiring after removing the fuse. tabetha |
