smoking cossy please help!

Hi i have a j reg 4x4 sapphire cosworth which has just coverd 114,000 it does have abit of piston slap when cold but nothing to worry about. The engine runs sweet as a nut hardly uses any oil and pulls like a train (stage 3).I have just noticed it smoking quite badly on run down!if i nail it to about 120 130mph and let go of the throttle letting the car slow on its own it smokes, once the speed has dropped to about 80 or 90 if i apply the gas to keep it at this speed it will puff quite abit then instantly clear up.Through the gears its fine just top end on run down? anyone any ideas?

valve stem oil seals mate, thats a posibility ,or turbo check hoses from turbo for oil :top:

Most likely at this mileage a bit of both, but defo stem seals need doing.
As said look for oil in pipes, any more than a faint mist then it is shagged turbo seals as well, although you have done well to get this mileage anyway!!

Mine had same symptoms, I changed Turbo and then did the head, both were worn so no money wasted but the problem was still there, ended up being worn bores and rings, done that and all fine now. So I would get a leakdown test done to try to point you in the right direction.

If it was bores or rings I'd have thought it would be using oil though??
