Is this high even for standard Saph, back end??

Been pointed out a few times it sits pretty high, I can't explain why really.

Get some fat mates to sit in back for a few hours, feed them free burgers, cheaper than new springs, they will soon squash springs a bit.
Very high for a cos that is.

I'm not wanting to lower it like

I've lowered too many cars where they squeak and rattle like fuck afterwards. Might just grind a few coils off with the angle grinder

Looks like you might have the wrong size tyres on too, that'll make it look worse. Are they 205/50r15's?

I wouldn't attack the current springs with an angle grinder as it'll make the ride worse. Best bet would be to get some new springs for it. How high does the front end sit?

I reckon someone may have fitted the wrong springs previously, when I put coilovers on mine I had to fit the cosworth springs and dampers to my 1.8 Saph (as this had the coilovers previously) and it made the car sit lower all round than coilovers. Couldn't get the car off the drive due to it having combat bumpers which were a bit low

Front end doesn't sit too bad, it's just the back mainly. I really don't want to fit aftermarket springs because I'll have to do the fronts etc.

The ride isn't dead soft and my old Saph sat fairly high, maybe it's just because it's never been sat in. :?

This is my old one, standard car

It doesn't look that much lower than my current Cos really.

Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it Drop it

Will look      nice 25 mm will suit it spot on then you can spend even more money on a louder stereo systen to drown out the rattles

Mine is standard and this how mine sits

It still scrapes the exhaust 3 up under boost though

Daveesaunders 18-02-2007 08:29 AM

It may have something to do with it being on 17's as these are a different diameter to standard its made it look a bit strange. A 25mm drop would look  And I wouldn't of thought it would introduce any rattles as long as you stay with the standard bushes.
