Cosworth insurance in dreaded manchester postcode?
Can anyone help suggest who i should be ringing insurance wise for sierra sapphire cosworth or 3dr because im finding it extremely difficult to get any under £2000
Im 27 yrs old with 4yrs no claims and drove performance cars since i was 17 (i.e xr 2 ) for some unkmown reason they want stupid amounts of money i tried over 30 companies 3 quarters sayin they either wont insure manchester postcode or i must be over 30yrs old ?
What bothers me i understand how they look at it but i have never had a car touched stolen or claimed damage from insurance? Each case surely should be indivual i mean the reason i never got a cosworth when i was 21 was they said i had to 25 now there sayin i have to be 30 or pay£2000?
I have come to the conclusion Cosworth dreams may be over as i drive a brand new vw passat company car and the cosworth was a toy for the odd day and cant justify £2000 for 2000 miles or so???
Yet i can get a series 1 rs turbo fully comp for £700 so i may have to tune the nutz off 1 of these (cosworth territory) and never live the dream of being a real man in the ford scene ???
Before anyone suggests moving i cant afford it and i never ever have any trouble so apart from car insurance they would be no reason to!!
If someone from inner manchester would like to comment or someone could suggest a listening insurer, your input would be greatly appreciated as this is victimisation(lol)
Regards Dave

am i suggesting something stupid, or can you tell your insurance company that you live at another address/postcode (register the car to a family members house, cousins uncles blablabla and insure with the same details with your name under the other address)
is this a good/bad or stupid idea

Try Heritage.
http://www.heritage-quote.co.uk/
Your 3dr is now classed as a classic car can be insured with these guys much cheaper than anyone else......or so I found.
And with it being classic, they don't use any of your no claims, so you can use them on your everyday car.
Worth checking out mate

That does sound a bit expensive... although i'm in the M33 postcode, and can't get a quote below £4200 for me for a cosworth (but i'm only 18 with 1 years no claims right now)
So £2000 for you, does sound on the high side, even for Manchester!

I did the same as this when I originally lived in North London. I was 21 and just got a S2 RST. I think I ended up paying about £1500 fully comp, but the car and insurance was registered at my sisters house outside London. It saved me well over £500.

Thx for the replies guys i will try heritage classic for 3 dr
As for the other people who get insured in manchester i noticed your postcodes was the likes of m34 m28
Unfortuatly mine is m5 innercity my last series 1 was £1300 here and if i get insured at parents m30 it was like £630 .
The problem is that no cars get touched where i live but a lot of cars get dumped and found after stolen where i live and i dont know if that effects your postcode insurance .
I will try heritage then let you know the outcome ??

I use to use them when i was 21 with a williams clio they was great back then?
Unknown why they dont touch manchester anymore ?
If i can get it to about £1200 i would suffice that!!!
