Default Going To make a saph cosworth my next car needs some pointer

hi guys im looking at getting a saph cosworth just in process of selling my seat leon cupra r, i had an escorts rs turbo so know a fair bit of the ford rs scene (my rs was quite tunned by grove garage), anyway i just need to know a few things like what i roughly should be looking at paying ill have around £10k but ive looked around and between £4.5-£5.5k seems going rate for a straight saph
im not to clued up on the inectors sytem or the 2/3bar map sensor stuff as the erst was not converted to efi, and any pointers that u could help me with ie major rot areas and problem areas would be appreciated

thanks jamie

Check common places for rust, i.e everywhere

But arches and turrets etc

As standard they have yellow injectors and a 2BAR map sensor

The "normal" stage 3 conversion which will see 330-350bhp will consist of:

-31 Actuator, Green `803` Injectors, 3BAR Map Sensor, RS500 Style Intercooler, T34 Turbo

Do'nt think I've missed anything on the list for Stage 3, oh, some good brakes

standard 4x4 cossies have blue injectors

other than that def look at the inner wings and the backs of the sills for rust.when/if you drive one look for smoke and if on cold start there is any piston slap(more common on 2wd)

IMO Piston slap isn't bad, it's just with 2wd pistons the gudgion pin is in the "wrong" place. With 4x4 pistons AFAIK the gudgion pin is slightly offset and this cures the piston slap!

Providing you know it's piston slap and not engine rattling to fook its ok
