Ok guys got a Dump Valve on my cossie but don't like it all that much!!
Which is the best one to go for?
First I will lengthen the Vac hose cos I want more Chatter, Have blocked it off before but didnt like it that much
Any opinions please

It will take longer for the dumpvalve to react so it will chatter till the air goes through the hose

I got a Forge Motorsport fast road jobbie on mine.
Nice and loud and still get some chatter !!

Piston type dump valve are best m8, i used to have a forge Grp A dump valve and it was nice and loud but the bailey is just as good and has no diaphragm to slpit.

I have piston d/v too, not the best noise but very reliable, had mine for 4 years now!!

I've got a GGR group A dump valve which is excellent, get a bit of chatter too had it on for 3 to 4 years with no problems.

Got a Bailey twin piston on mine, works fine, no chatter though

No dump valve,no recurculating valve.....chatters its fucking cock off with the 500 cooler fitted

Was going to run mine without d/v because i prefer the noise, but doesn't it decrease the reliability of the turbo?

It does,but not by a significant amount to be honest,they go better with out a dump valve anyway

Does a number of bad things -

* chatter noise is excess boost stalling the turbo blades so not good
* having no dump valve fatigues clamps and hoses much more so (not unheard of blowing off hoses w/o dump valve w/ hi boost)
* causes extra turbo lag between throttle snaps (eg gear shifts)
* trapped excess boost puts more stress on the seals and breather system

Ford is ONE of the CHEAPEST car companies in the World. They installed a BOV on a Cossie for a very good reason. Hence it stays IMO.

Running a Cossie at boost without a dump valve is like cigarette smoking to the turbo. It won't kill it immediately, but it will shorten it's life within time.
