Genuine Sapphire Cosworth rear bumpers - what are they worth?
As above.
Lets say might have a locating tab broken, exhaust cut out and a few scratches etc.
But would probably need paint to suit your car.
What are they worth?
Prices please for...
Mint?
Average?
and poor?
Cheers

Yes he's asked loads of people and I offered him one for £150 but he said it was too expensive and that they were the same as a Saff lx, which they sort of are but...
Thought he might have knocked me down a bit?
How much do the 'RS breakers' charge for rear bumpers?
The black inserts are £50 new, then paint - you end up spending a good few quid no matter what.

Okay, what condition are we talking?
Mint, average or poor?
And, I do think they are getting more and more unique as they are increasingly harder to find.

Bet rear bumpers new from ford were alot dearer than 100 quid mate
Took me nearly a year and a drive up to silverstone to meet a fellow ford nut before i found a good clean bumper for my saph ( and by good and clean i mean no cracks, all intact and no paintwork required!)
I have got two other white bumpers here but they do have damage, welcome to come take a look if you want?

Is it worth haggling over £50? If you get what you need then worth doing, especially if it has the insert. I wouldn't have thought that many saphs are knocking around being broken are there?
But £150 for paint sounds like a cheap price to me, especially if it needs a bit of attention

I totally get what you are saying Glen, I don't blame you for wanting a nice bumper.
I don't think you will find one for £50.
I don't wish to rip anyone off, but I aint gonna rip myself off either, I've bought them at some point - I've had a couple of reps, one broke and gone the other I might return to standard? I don't know?
I just wanted to know the three different prices as per my original post for mint, average and poor.
I appreciate we all have different definitions of those three catagories, you'd be very lucky to drop on one the exact same (weather worn or recently painted) shade as your own Saff, never mind just the right colour.
So with that in mind the colour and light scratches are neither here or there because in most cases the bumper would be painted anyway.
If we are talking deep gouges and splits/cracks then yes, this will bump up the bill from the body shop. I get that.

I would pay a 100 quid for a bumper. What I'm saying is the saff cossie bumper is the same as a normal saff bumper so i dont like to see the cossie tax been added lol.
Where abouts in yorkshire are you??

PassionFord Post Whore!!
The biggest problem is finding Saff bumpers with the fixing brackets not broken off. I bought a rough one but the brackets were good, so I drilled them out and got them plastic welded into my bumper which had broken ones. It fixed it up a treat with no more sagging and when it was re-painted and had new black inserts it looks brand new again.
I did offer the rear bumper to Glenn for free but it would have needed a fair bit of work to fix it up so in the end I took it to the dump.
