hello all

my brother has just brought a mk4 escort 1.6gl, He has a set of twin 40's that he is thinking about fitting onto the car so can someone post a list of what he will need for the job in hand please?

and what is it used for?

To fit the 40`s you need the inlet manifold and electric fuel pump.You need to blank where the old pump was with a plate. Also you will need a throttle cable kit to operate them.

Then you will need to buy lots of jets and take it to a rolling road to get the optimum performance from the engine :top:

you can use the escort one pal, have to be diy, as long as youve got the gaskets, inlet manifold youl be ok, do you know what car they came off? Bogg bros up north will sort the tune out for £80 on the rollers, the carbs are very simple to fit though, ideally youl need a different maniold and a decent exhaust and cam to make the most of them though

there bolted onto a cav 2.0ltr 8v at the moment.
he has got a straight through powerflow exhaust system going on once we get round to it

sell me that cav engine with the carbs on it :D il put it in a nova!

it should run ok with them setup as they are tbf as long as theyre running perfect on the cav.

On monday ring boggbro's pal, they will be able to sort you out with setup, they make the inlet manifolds too

he never got it running wasnt getting a spark then he got the escort so he is breaking the corsa, apparently his mate rebuilt the engine so he will be selling that but he wants the carbs im afraid lol.

have you got there number please mate because he needs to get the inlet manifold
