Ford Racing Puma Engine #0302 - Complete Conversion Kit
I am selling my beloved FRP engine due to purchase of a Escort RS Turbo, I am putting my car back to standard.
It never fails to impress. Every time I have opened up the engine the comments have always been "WOW"

Engine History and Detail
When I purchased this engine a year ago, the owner of the engine had it in a mk4 show car, his car was ONLY ever driven to shows. Meaning in the 4 years he had it, it covered 500 miles. One year it did 12 miles! 6 to the MOT station and 6 back! He had all the nuts and bolts on the engine replaced with stainless ones.
The inlet has been highly polished to give a mirror like shine

A picture of the inlet can sometimes be seen at the top of the ZSOC banner. It never fails to impress!
The engine block is painted red and the gearbox is painted silver. The MAF, ICV, alternator and cam cover have been sprayed imperial blue. The inlet insert has also been sprayed to match the rest. I have a imperial blue throttle body - but it has a bent linkage so a standard one will be supplied.
The cams have been timed up to FRP spec.
The car this engine was in (mine) was featured in Decembers Fast Ford

The photographer commented on the inlet and how much shine it had, saying "it makes taking the pictures hard because the sun keeps reflecting"
Milleage and service history
They engine has done about 53k with a cam belt & tensioner replaced at 41k. I purchased the engine on 41k.
Whilst in my ownership the engine has had 3 services (about every 5k) I have also replaced the gearbox oil twice. There was no reason for it, I just did.
I have always ran it on Mobil1 0w40 oil & Shell fuel. When the old oil was drained it was always a lovely golden colour.
The engine has also had a brand new:
When the engine was cold I never took it over 2.5k until it was warm and never drove it hard until i had done at least 10 miles in it. No expense was ever spared on this engine and everything was always done by me to the highest standard.
The overrun on the engine was PORN! it always put a massive smile on my face and anyone sat in the passenger seat. Its been a very reliable engine and never broke down on me. I had a few running issues but they were down to a air leak (tb gasket) and faulty MAF.
Uprated/performance parts
As standard the FRP has uprated cams & bigger inlet which produce between 148-155BHP. With the cam timing corrected I have not had this on a rolling road.
The engine also has the FRP gearbox which has different ratios to the standard 1.7 box as well as 1.6 final drive. Overall its the sort after box.
The engine also has fitted a Helix 4 paddle race clutch and helix clutch slave cylinder. This clutch has done about 14k and had loads of life left in it. These clutches on their own are worth about £400. It makes changing gear very precise and snappy.
The airbox has been derestricted and fitted with a JR performance air filter which has been cleaned and oiled every 5k. The filter will be cleaned and oiled before buyer collects.
