Default Mondeo Clutch to the floor ????

Hi all. I am one of those who really likes the Mondeo, it is what it is.
But I need a bit of help, one day out driving, I went to change down from 3rd to 4th, and nothing, the clutch pedal went straight to the floor, and would not return, pulled over and lifted the clutch pedal by hand, and the clutch worked fine. Got home bled the system, no signs of fluid loss, leaking, damaged/kinked pipes etc.. Another 40-50 miles of town driving, without any problems, then it did it again, once again stop the car, lift the clutch pedal up by hand, and off we go............ I am not going to be keep doing this every week......... Any help or advice on what it may be ?????
Thanks for reading,
Nige.

I would say rather clutch slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. The slave cyl is in the box.

I would try a master cylinder first cause its easier to change.

Thanks Glenn, I hav'nt the heart or the energy to take the gearbox out again to look at the slave cyl, so I will change the master cyl, and see what happens. Thanks again, Nige.

Hi Studabear, yes it does have a spring on the pedal. Took the car around the block, and the clutch was fine. Im going to change the master cylinder as Glenn suggested, and see what happens. Thanks for your input Studabear.
