Default Ford ka mk2 2009 water in passenger footwells

Hi all,
Just signed upto the forums, so please bare with me! Recently discovered my passenger front and rear footwells on my 2009 KA are absolutely sodden with water! Lifted the carpets and soundproofing to find water in the dips at the edge of the floor, even after mopping out! The front end is completely dry, I.E bulkhead, under the dash etc. does anyone know how to go about this problem, or had it themselves? Work in a garage, but I'm a sparky! Not my area of expertise! Checked all drainage holes under the scuttle panel, had the wheel arch guards off also! Cheers, Jack.

Hi did you ever sort this as i have this now in the missus car.

There are two drain holes under the scuttle panel that were blocked which we cleared but still getting wet inside.

Good evening mate,

Yes! After spending a good few hours completely stripping out the carpets/seats and the likes - traced it to the back bumper.
Although not obvious, the seam sealant had come adrift, allowing water in and somehow through the rear footwell... back bumper off, nice new seam of sealant, now dry as a bone!

Where abouts are you located mate?

Hi I am in Portsmouth.

Cool thanks for replying I will have a look. We did go to ford yesterday and they said might be behind back bumper.

I've had the boot carpets all out and that's dry.

Just had the bumper off. Sealant looked OK apart from a tiny little area which was on the drivers side so has filled all the way along and above the bumper mounts. There was two bits either side just above the bumper that rised a little which looked like it was for drainage so left those two. Put loads above the bumper mounts below these points.
