Default White smoke and erratic idle from cold start, then runs fine, what can cause this ?

2006 ford focus sport 1.8 TDCI.

White smoke and erratic idle from overnight start, clears up after approx 1 minute then drives great all day/night.
Not glow plugs, all been replaced and glow plug relay shows on dashboard so that must be okay.
no performance issues.

here is a quick video of it on YouTube, please watch and comment, thanks !

Diesel knock sounds very loud, I would have a diesel specialist check it out.

Thank you so much for replying, really appreciated.

The glow plugs have been replaced with 2 different sets, both new, I think it does smell like fuel a bit, I'll try and get a better whiff of it next time.

A week after buying it (18 months ago) I think it was 3 of the injectors were leaking, he glued the others back in (somebody said he should not have done that ? ) and replaced the seal on one of them, then began leaking from leak off pipe, he put cable ties around the injectors to the Leak off pipe , no visible leaks since.
However I feel my economy is poor, averaging 38-40 mpg driving within speed limits mix of around town and short motorway trips, the mpg statistics for this car is 39.2 mpg. extra 64.2, combined 52.3

Car chugs on idle sometimes but does not affect performance of the car, goes away when bring clutch up also. first noticed this noise the day I purchased it driving it home.

so, could it be injectors, could it be a sign of head gasket failure ??

Thanks !

Hi, it only makes this noise during cold startup from overnight park since this recent problem. It occasionally makes this noise sometimes when the car begins chugging on idle ( first noticed it chugging on idle the day I purchased it and a light briefly flashes on then off, looks like an explanation with a cog (bit like parking brake light) was told it means power control module ??

any thoughts on this ? thanks

Has it been on a decent scanner to see what fault codes are stored?

knocks for a second to 5 seconds on /off usually when cold, first noticed this shortly after purchasing the car, the noise is usually followed by a very brief flash of a light that looks like parking brake light with cog around it, flashes on for about 5 seconds then goes off. was told it might be power control module ?
