Carpet removal help
My passenger side carpet is damp and smells.
I guess the previous owner had broken/weakened seal of
the cabin filter cowl and some water leaked in the cabin.
I want to remove, wash and dry the carpet.
Found a post online of assembling the carpet back
(http://sammo303.blogspot.com/2010/12...placement.html),
and some post of general order of removal of things.
However, i am running into problems and am greatly appreciating
any help from the experienced!
A) Do i need to rip off the carpet from the white plastic? Can i glue it back
together later? Two side glue tape?Location - below the door plastic
frame protector (?name?)
Revision: From the link i posted above i saw that the plastic stays
intact/glued to the carpet.
Now how do i remove the plastic from the doorframe?
B) How do i remove those plastic screws? I just managed to unscrew them some and loose the plastic and pulled the carpet from it.
C) The material below the carpet is really damp. After removal can i
clean it or should i look for replacement? What is it?
D) The material under the carpet is damp and goes deep inside up there.
How to remove? Is it washable?
E) How do i remove A and center console B?
F) Do i need to remove that center pillar and how?
If you now of great DIY post or video online for this "operation" please share.
Many thanks to all!
Any advice is very welcome!
Regards
Igor

I didn't buy a new carpet.
I washed the offending smelly areas.
While wet toward damp i powdered it with some soda bicarbonate,
heard it helps neutralizing smells, and then had it dry,
Plan to fit the same carpet.
Meanwhile, as i am concluding whether the firewall pad dampness is
from its drying or leakage ftom the A/C, i drive my car
with some homemade rugs and pads on the floor.
Center console removed, looks wild.
