lowering focus st170 on springs will it be ok
hi i have a st 170 it handles really good but i want it to be a bit lower so i want to put some 40 mm lowering springs on it but im worried this will ruin the way it handles just wondering if it will still be ok?? .thanks

I heard about new dampers as well but others also told me it would be fine so I dropped my focus 50mm from standard on all the standard shocks and stuff and it's fine... Just a bit stiff! Hasn't had any effect on handling whatsoever so you should be fine.

If you go too low, you'll find the suspension travel on the shock is reduced to a point where its not effective. Really go low, and you end up a point where the shock is effectively solid, and if you hit a bump or an undulation at speed, instead of soaking it up, the wheel will just bounce. Wheels on the ground are good for grip
30mm should be ok. 50 mm less so.
