Default Fitting ST front bumper, don't want front park sensors.

2012 Focus.
I am fitting an ST bumper.
The ST bumper has no parking sensors.
My original bumper has got front parking sensors.
Want to try and bypass them some how, is that possible?
Thanks.

Thanks Rich, I can make holes but I think they look ugly and have no purpose on a car the size of a Focus.
They annoy me while reversing into the car port as they beep from the side front and not what's behind (drive is a bit narrow up by the car port)
There is normally a car there or the garage door.
Have grown to rely on them too much now
When it's dark and you are reversing in.
Although, only the second car to have owned with them.
Back sensors Yes.

I know they are annoying, most times I just press the button to turn them off! Does yours have the self park? If so that won't work without them.

Oh and not sure if you are aware or not but you will also need an ST undertray, foam bits that sit behind the bumper and a new bumper mounting bracket. I've got a list of part numbers if you need them.

Thanks for the advice there.
Yes it does have the self park, we have never used it but will have to fit the sensors then cheers, will have to keep that there.

Did notice that the large plastic gubbins that goes on the slam panel is different and have ordered the ST one.
Will also now need the undertray following your advice.

When offering the bumper up there were two plastic parts hanging down, just thought that they weren't located properly and needed to go above the bottom of the bumper.

The foglights fitted from the old bumper but they sat on top of the housing rather than inside.
Never liked the bumper with the triangles.

What is the bumper mounting bracket Rich?

Here's a quick picture.

The bumper mounting bracket is a large piece of plastic that goes inside the bumper, it's the piece that the yellow bonnet release catch clips into.

Ahh that bit, I ordered that the other day.
It arrived today.
It matches your part number.
Any part number on the ST undertray?
Thanks.

I am still short of an undertray, I have located the part number that is stamped on it, bit no finis code as yet. The number that's stamped on it is cm51-a8b384-d. The code you have put up there is for the one you already have.

If you do find the finis code to order one then do let me know!!

Haven't checked this with the one I have yet but it might be possible to modify the original one.
Looks a bit old for a fairly new car.
Shall look at the old one and the images on this website.

Ford gave us this number> 1779079

That's what I thought.
Will have a look at that, see how it goes with trimming it.

Car is a Titanuim X but has a Zetec S rear bumper and the ST front bumper.
Does have a nice visible tail pipe and nice 18" alloys.
Very well specced inside, has sat nav, park pilot, auto full beam, auto lights, auto wipers, cruise, electric seats, ambient lighting, tells you the speed limit on the clocks, forward crash warning system etc.
Is a nice car.

Trying to think of a badge to put where the ST badge should go on the front.

Trail fitting, need to figure out what to do with the 2 front sensors.
Then need undertray.

Looks good mate, I drilled a hole either side of the number plate for the other 2 sensors, into the honeycomb bit. I then had to glue the sensor in from behind. It works fine most of the time but as the sensors don't sit flush they do go off sometimes.

I think what I may do is fit a slightly shortened number plate then fit the sensors either side of it, or unless there is a different sensor available that is a bit longer to protude through the honeycomb?

Mine is also the 2.0tdci auto, I only use the car for work but was fed up sitting in traffic 2 hours a day in a manual! Only other plans for it are to pick up the recaro interior and maybe get it remapped. I've got a set of ST wheels on it and a set of eibach springs.

I don't have any pics of it in its current state which is minging lol. I'll get it cleaned up at the weekend and take some pics.

Here's a couple of pictures of mine and how I fitted the front sensors, excuse the state of it!! I do need to have another go at repositioning the front sensors as they don't work properly really sat in there.

Looks great Richie.
You made a nice neat job of the sensors.
You can see that yours is a bit lower.
How do you find the ride on them Eibachs?

Did this today, before reading your posts.

It does ride a bit more firm with the eibachs as to be expected really, but it's the most comfortable lowered car I've had, I don't notice it at all now.

How well do the sensors work fitted there? Did you have to extend the loom at all?

Loom was ok.
Just had to do away with some of the loom clips and used duct tape.
Sensors work fine.

Because it's not an ST, what badge would work on the place of the ST badge space Richie?

Not sure to be honest with you, im not going to fit anything as you don't really notice it. Either that or you could paint an st badge in gloss black then fit it so it's not too noticeable?

Managed to trim up the undertray.
My Son fitted it before I got a chance to take pictures.

Basically just trim the two front bits, I will try and find the offcuts and take a picture of them.

There is a slight gap but was thinking of using a bit of duct tape.

All in all have saved a lot of money on buying one.

Will put up some pictures.
