Default spark plug blown out of head st170

hi I have had a spark plug blow out of the head stripping the thread does anyone know what may of caused this and is there an easy fix.

You can helicoil it. you can buy a kit to re tap it and put the helicoil in. Someone’s prob stripped the threads on a spark plug change

Aye you can fit a insert to repair the thread, I've known a spark plug work loose on a car after not being serviced for years and that ripped the thread out with it.

Some people seem to think you have to tighten spark plugs with a long extension bar and over tightening can strip the thread. As others have said a heli-coil insert will fix it.

thank you for your replies. would It damafe car if I drove it two minutes up the road to a good reputable garage and request them to do the work

Get it towed, you do not want fuel /air mixture blowing out of the plug hole in to a. Engine bay that will be hot and have areas that could spark....not worth the risk.

if you really have to drive it disconnect the injector for that cylinder -dont rev it high-short distance only

Disconnect the electrical plug on the injector for that cylinder, this will keep the injector closed
