Gearbox Oils - High Torque Diesel
I have tried to do a bit of research on here but all the search option does is bring up project threads. I am wondering if there is anything I can to improve the protection of my gearbox without major work I.e. Shot peening and polishing etc.
The reason I ask is that the 6 Speed gearbox on my Mk 3.5 ST diesel is supposed to be rated to about 450nm of torque and has around 400nm in standard form. I have added a bluefin remap that is meant to add an additional 90nm. I will hopefully get a rolling road session done soon to prove this but in the mean time I am curious if there are options out there with upgraded oil that reduce the chances of a problem, maybe Fords oil is semi synthetic and there is a fully synthetic option out there.
