Newbie Questions - FOCUS RS

hi all - just joined as just picked up a mint 53 plate focus RS with 18000 miles FSH etc for £13000 from a DEALER !!! completely std :content:

think it needs new brakes though
dont mind paying for quality, what would everyone recommend?
not doing any tracks, just fast road use
thought about allround EBC spotted/grooved disks with greenstuff pads?
thought red stuff not really suitable for me??

also does anyone know who does DECENT bonetts?? as in vented ones as would quite like one nearer spring, NOT carbon fibre though
thanks in advance

am located in Chatham, Kent if that helps !

dont think you can get greens for the rs anymore as they knacker your discs up but reds are ok and they dont give out as much dust like normal pads too.hope this helps :top:

FOCUS RS

will red stuff pads be ok??
thought they took a while to warm up???

is the EBC disk and red stuff pad better/same as stock brembo ones??

will check out ggr for bonett

both me and my brother have used red stuff pads in your rs's for the last year or so, and my brother has been using ebc disks on his for the last five months, with no complants and he done 65,000  miles in his.

EBC's all round on mine too!

using the brembo stock discs and uprated pads and have to say for a std setup these are more than adequate - if you are going for big power like alot of us that run rs' then its as everyone else has said and ebc!!!

disks

not initially going to mod to much, in the pipeline;

Bluefin - just purchased from rob @ SCC
k&n gen 2 - on order
bailey dv36 trumpet DV
s/s boost hose set

might as well go for EBC all round i think!

am gonna get use to the car first, opened it up for the first time last night, was quite impressive ! did sort of squirm about a bit from 3000 - 5000 under hard acceleration, but i should hold the wheel with both hands i suppose !

bonett

yes i think your right
is it a different one to normal focus????
i normally mod my cars quite a lot, but i want to keep the RS pure, with nothing majour so perhaps the bonett will stay !
getting the alloys diamond cut next week though

dont quite know who to ask, but is there anyway i can trace the history of my car via the build no or reg?? done hpi etc but i would like to speak to the previous owner
