hi i have a st170 i am breaking will the 6 speed gear box fit. i have the box and drive shafts is that all i need other then diff. any help appreciated. cheers kevin

You'll also need the 170 Dual mass flywheel and clutch. The 6 speed cables also at the very least and maybe the mountings. The 170 box is not a ford box. Its a getrag box. Same as on the mini cooper s

not that simple then is it possible to get uprated clutch and solid flywheel for the st170

does any body no if the mini cooper s flywheel and clutch would fit the st170 gearbox

I've owned an st170 and thought the gear ratios were rubbish and the DMF was a pain in the arse. Personally, save your time and money and not bother.

I've had a Focus SVT 6speed, our equivalent to a ST170. I too had considered using the 6speed in the RS clone I built. The problem is the 6speed axles have a different spline, finer, smaller than the RS axles, would have to use the outer bearing and hubs, but then you wouldn't have RS wheel track/offset.


I took the c/v joints off thinking I could just swap the RS outer to the SVT axle but those spine on the axle were different too.
