Default Cylinder Head Temp (CHT) sensor Removal Mk1 Focus RS

Hi there, I was just hoping I could get a bit of advise please?

Car is a Mk1 Focus RS and I've been getting a bit of weird readings on the scangauge in regards to the Cylinder head temps, fluctuating quite wildly at times.

I'm attemping to replace it, I've started to remove the inlets but rain has halted play so far but after looking it looks like the alternator maybe in the way too?

If anyone could advise me further it'd be greatly appreciated.

What sort of readings are ou getting? They do seem fairly erratic or at least very quick to change.. They also seem to read quite high!
Fans come on at 112 deg on scan gauge.
