the good old noisey cat heat sheild problem!

does anyone know if replacing both the upper and lower part of the heat shield cures the rattling problem? ive read about using cable ties and that reduced the problem but didnt eliminate it. ive subsequently removed the lower part as it was looking a bit knackered. both heat shields and bolts are £70 from ford :/ would like to know if it actually works before i splash the cash.

With my ST170 I had the same problem, stainless cable ties cured it for a short while but then it came back again so I pulled them off. No problems with no heatshields in 40k :)

I ripped mine off once it started to rattle  another cause is if the Cat bracket has snapped off the cat, this can cause a similar noise.

I am having the same problem. Thought it was coming from the exhaust manifold shield because that is very loose. Sorted that out and it is still really bad. Is it the heat shield above the cat that normally causes this rattle then?
