Zetec turbo owners.....
Which plugs are best?
I have a 1.8 16v zetec turbo running T25 turbo and about 190bhp. When I bought the car, I replaced the plugs with NGK platinums for a standard 1.8 which I had been told were correct but I have a stutter on boost and I'm just wondering if the car is able to ignite the mixture correctly or if the spark is getting blown out. Gaps are about 0.7mm iirc
Should I be running FRS plugs or any others, or are the plugs I have fine?

So I'd be right that it could be the plugs causing the misfiring? It does seem worse when I have 95ron fuel rather than 97+ron which makes me think it's ignition related.

Got some Denso 22s in now and car drives alot better but still has hesitation around 3000rpm to now 3750rpm on heavy throttle. Now being run on minimum 97ron all the time- normally sainsburys as it's 131.9 locally compared to local v-power of 136.9 or more. Anything I can be checking before taking it to a a garage? Breather system is clogged but I'll be removing old hoses and replacing with silicon ones to my catch tank tomorrow. Should there be a 1-way valve on crankcase breather port to catch tank? Also my fuel vapor canister has no vac line connected to inlet mani and I know FRS has one with 1-way valve on.

I've got a leak in the gasket between turbo and exhaust mani it seems too. Only when cold there is a little oil comes out the joint but also seems to have an exhaust leak too. I've done breather system and cleaned it all out so car idles better now and has brand new FRS plugs in. What symptoms would gasket leak cause?

There should be no oil leak between exhaust and turbo, only if turbo is leaking into exhaust housing and if it is do not use the car till its fixed. Whip the turbo off and check for play in the shaft, you losing oil? Any blue smoke?
Sounds like a catalouge of errors going on, out of the few T series focus's i have seen now they all look like they had been hacked about a bit under the bonnet. Sounds to me like your left fixing the previous owners bodges?
I would literally start from scratch and make sure EVERYthing is working correctly/leak free

Using no oil and no blue smoke I've seen. The smoke from under the bonnet making me think exhaust leak was black but there is a burning oil smell

you will some times get a bit of leak between turbo flange and mani when cold, but not with lots of oil? check that all your pipes are ok i.e. to map sensors ect.

It wasn't alot no. It just seemed to seep out, increasing as revs did. I'm just currently checking sensors over. Just not sure how to go about it though
