Default Tuning Boxes for Focus TDCI 1.8 115bhp

Has anybody any advice about fitting tuning boxes. My car is very flat at low revs and fine after 3500rpm.

I am thinking of getting a tuning box from 'The Italian Job' for £69.00 on e bay.

Comments would be appreciated
Thanks
Terry

I have a box from ebay on my car, It was £99 From here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Focus-TDC...item35a698dece

It has made a fair difference to my car, Its not a fast car now but there is a noticable difference, There is a screw to adjust the box but I haven't changed it. It took me a while to decide whether to buy one or not but I don't regret it.

I did loads of research before buying a tuning box for my focus tdci sport. I found that the Roverron tuning boxes which can be found here http://tuning-diesels.com/
were one of the best to buy. Its got ten setting and im currently running mine on nine. They make a huge difference to the power delivery and take 10 mins to fit. Ive also disconected my egr valve by removing the vacumn hose and sticking a bolt in. That mod has also made the power delivery smoother and would recommend it.

Don't use a tuningbox these are engine killers!!! Go for a remap this is much better for everything!

Agreed the 65 quid jobs off ebay may well kill an engine. But do some research on the better and more expensive boxes they are not all that bad.

Thankyou boysbach. At least I know not to buy a cheap one.

JDJ. As you seem to be the 'test pilot' , how many miles have you done since you bolted the box on?
