Since i have had my FRS i keep hearing this whistling noise when the car hits 3600rpm then it stops at 3800rpm. wasn't too bothered about it but after having it checked on a rolling road the car is down on power now and we were unable to trace the problem.
only advice i have is that it could be the turbo, but until it is stripped there is no-way of telling.

has anyone else had this problem?
it's started to bother me now, the car was orignally making 280bhp and now it is making 260bhp., on the same rollers and it was a colder day on the 260bhp run. 2months apart.
i'm starting to think that in another 2 months it will probably lose even more power.
any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.

Hmm well i get this sometimes and going to look into it this week

At first i though it was a midget under my bonnet blowing one of those party hooters, but to no avail

But this has only happened since i fitted my new roose hoses and genII k&n , so gather its a air leak.

defo the problem, split hose is also possible.


Have you been changing anything recently, hoses , filter?

THey do make a whistle noise after gen2 k+n is fitted, as i put 1 on my mates and it had that whistle and also nice turbo chatter when he came off the gas. But to be sure check all ya hoses new and old. good luck

Fitted a roose turbo to my genII hose the other week, and not heard this noise since !

sounds so much better too !!
