1.8 and 2.0 Zetec
Are there any parts that are interchangable from the two engines?
I have a 1.8 and want to know if I can fit any of the 2.0 parts and what difference will it make?
I'm thinking throttle body, inlet manifold etc or is the only difference higher disemplacement and different management?
Any help would be great.

There is nothing practical you can do. The 1.8 inlet flows enough for 150 bhp your engine is held back by the mapping. Save your cash it is not worth the hassle of modifying the ZETEC in newer cars like the Focus.

hi mate whoever told you the 1.8 inlet will only flow 150 bhp knows nothing the 1.8 and 2.0 inlets are the same and are both good for up to around 400 bhp when used with forced induction as my car is a 1.8 and is currently running 300bhp and will do around 350 when my intercooler is uprated using a standard inlet.

the 2.0 cams, throttle body and ECU will see your 1.8 up to 130bhp.
the throttle body is bigger bore internally, and the cams are longer duration.
but if you are going to the trouble of swapping cams you may aswell fit some performance cams. they are only about Ł150 from USA but then you would need it remapping aswell.
if you do put the 2.0 cams in it ideally needs the fuel pressure increased a bit, which is why the ECU should be swapped aswell.
i had 155bhp from a 2.0 zetec with alot of bolt-on mods on standard inlet manifold but the injectors max out at that point. you can buy ford racing injectors which are bigger capacity for cheap if you hit that limit.

Ok, thanks guys something to consider.
Next question, will parts from a Mondeo engine work or did they differ from the Focus.
Just asking this because Mondeo parts are easier to find than Focus.
