ST170 Digital Heater In Focus RS
I just want to know how to install the ST170 Digital Heater into my focus RS. I have seen it in fast ford where someone installed all the ST Bits into his rs including the heated seats and oil gauges.
What work is required or is there anyone that can do it for me?

It's do-able however it's a complete dash out job. One of the guys from the ffoc did it a while back.
This might be more feasable, but i have no idea on what's involved with it.

And I will say RIGHT NOW that it is an absolute pig of a job to do BAR NONE!
Sourcing the bits is your first problem, you need the heater matrix and wiring loom out of an ST170 that had the EATC system and they are rare as rocking horse shit.
You need to remove EVERYTHING in the front of the car, seats, radio surround, centre console, dashboard (pain in the arse job) AND the crash support framework (steering column is on it) and THEN you can remove the heater matrix behind it (connects into the engine bay) to look something like this
You have to totally discharge the air con (illegal to 'dump' it to air as it's a refridgerant if you have nosey/very PC neighbours) and drain the coolant as well.
Disconnecting the air con pipes has to be one of THE worst jobs I have EVER done on ANY Focus I have ever worked on. The wiring to integrate it all into the standard Focus loom was a pain in the arse because the only wiring diagram in existence exists as a scrappy hand-drawn thing on the back of some TIS printouts
The full thread can be found HERE on FFOC which should give you a brief idea of whats involved, suffice to say it took us an entire weekend (approx 20 hours) work to get it all sorted and I will NEVER EVER do another one.
And that's before you start mentioning that the RS has one of the most poverty spec wiring looms of the Focus fleet - it's got wiring for everything it's got and absolutely nothing more!!! Most other Foci have all manner of goodies tucked away taped somewhere in the looms!
The kit from European parts has been fitted by someone who was turned off by the amount of work after we did it - the kit is absolutely crap!!!
ST170 oil dials - don't bother, they work off the ST170 'Black Oak' ECU and nobody's yet worked out if it's possible to get them working from any other signal! We're trying but aren't having any success at the moment!!!
Heated seats? Assuming you want to keep your RS seats you'll need to get hold of the heater mats (about £30 each from Ford) and rip off your lovely leather/alcantara seats cover, install them in the foam underneath and then run the wiring to them. A right royal pain in the arse job as well!!!

If you still want to do after that you must be mad
I doubt that Ford would even entertain the idea myself and given the fact that most of them are incapable of changing the oil correctly would you let them do that to your pride & joy?
I'd love to see a quote for it though, if it took 2 people 20 hours add a few for the heated seats too.
Maybe 48 hours labour at £50-£60 an hour? At £50 an hour it's £2400 then there's the possibilty of VAT on top of that plus the parts you'll have to source, the list goes on.
It would probably be cheaper to swap your engine in to an st170.

Ford wouldn't do the job I'd almost guarantee it - you'd need to find an absolute nutcase like myself to do it and I'd quote you an absolute fortune in an effort to put you off doing it - it REALLY IS that much of a bastard to do.
Highly doubt Ford would do heated seats for you either, the most difficult bit is ripping off the seat covers and installing the heater pads. If you can find someone who can remove/unstitch and then refit/stitch up the seat covers then the wiring isn't that difficult (except you've got nowhere to put the switches in the centre console either )
Seriously bud, enjoy the car for what it is (and what a car it is) and just accept it doesn't come with these parts and you can't fit them!
