Default A few questions...(answer as many as u can)

1. How reliable are the Turbos?
2. Did the FRS come with a dump valve as standard?
3. How often do you think it should be serviced?
4. How good is the Focus RS in general because I think it is the absolute dogs doodars!!!!!

1)The Turbo is BOM Prof. After a hard run out give it a minute or two to cool down
2) It has a dump valve but it a recycling one so there is no noise
3) I have mine servied about 2.5k – 3k only because I drive it really hard and look after it like it a baby
4) The best hot hatch ever

my turbo is running just over 1.3 bar now and it never fails to delivery the goods.

You shouldnt have any problems as long as u look after it.

cheers.

Same as above really. Would suggest you change the original DV to a stronger item like the Bailey DV30 or Forge Dv006. i change oil every 6mths too and all round this car is awesome!

the turbos are not bomb proof

i blew mine with under 12k on engine and most where easy miles

if you leave it standard it will last once you raise the boost either by bluefin of boost controller the turbo will suffer

in my fastford june 2003 in the bluefin special it says they raised the frs boost from holding 12 to 17 psi. I no my collins chip was only holding about 15-16 psi, it now holds 19 with the controller and feels alot stronger.

Shut up sit down

Thats complete ball shit.

There is no way in the world mate focus rs with decat and bluefin runs 21 psi bore off.

u get just on a bar maybe a little more with the wind behind up.

Bar = 14 psi.

The gt25 start to squeal arond 21-22 psi.

The reson you get more power form adding the de-cat is becuase it flows the gases better it dont raise the psi

U would need atleast a manifold and a boost controller or a remapped bluefin to rasie the boost that high.

Then to run 26 psi your gonna need atleast a gt28rs with new cooler.

Sort it out why dont u call rob @ scc or the guys down @ engine advatages

My std car boosts and holds around 1bar which is approx 14.7psi so cant understand how a bluefin can not raise the boost level above standard? How does it generate the extra power and torque?

rods and pistons are fine for high boost

most frs owners running 370+ still run standard internals......most have been going a year or so now without problems

as for bluefin send them a email or even scc he will tell you it increases it to 21 and drops and holds 19

no pubs talk here guys i only state what i no. The rs standard boost holds 12psi in 3rd 4th and 5th. think it changes in1&2 to limit the torque. anyway i have scanned the part of the mag that stated what bluefin runs at. i'm sure superchips themselves no what there product runs at.

states raises the boost from 12 - 17 psi.

I have only fitted a controller as i had the 5k boost problem that most people try to blame on the sparks and leads

also the other thing that i don't understand is they recon they had to bring it down again at the top end so it dosn't lean out, but i have been told that theres plenty of fuel at the top end

So what u are saying steve is i was right and that a focus rs does not run over 20 psi with just a bluefin on it.

1-0! Back of the net!

Thanks,

Jim
