Default Do I have a problem with my parking brake ? advice needed please

I used to pull on handbrake to hard, one day the handbrake felt very slack, a friend adjusted it a few times, even took back wheel off and did something, think he said caliper was sticking or something, also brake disc was scored.
handbrake stayed firm for about 3 days, then went slack again, even adjusted it inside the car but after a few days it became slack again , also it took about 5 - 7 clicks just to secure the car from rolling.
even after replacing rear brake pads/discs the parking brake felt slack and took about 5 - 7 clicks to hold the car on modest hills.
also the new brake disc on the same side soon became scored like the previous one.
I've just gone out and used a ratchet and extension and got several turns but stopped before risking over tightening , the car is holding better now on around 2 - 3 clicks but am just hoping it will remain under tension and not go slack again, will have to wait and see.

if not do you have any ideas as to what could be the problem ?

thanks all and as always much appreciated

Sounds like your rear brake fairy has died !
Call halfords and ask Peter Pan for some fairy dust to sprinkle on the rear calipers that might work?

Reyland sell big brake dust upgrades, I think you can get 300mm dust under those wheels, go 18's and you can have ap dust.

nope, the problem was allowing the dickhead who called himself a mechanic ''mess'' with my car when in reality he knows fuck all, as said I have no complaints following any of the repairs I've carried out myself

Oh, don't let a mechanic who doesn't know what he is doing near your car, he could be asking advice on forums and then making a right mess.

why would the calipers/scoring on the discs/pads effect your handbrake?

Another day, another problem!! How can anyone have a car that has so many unrelated problems? Are you trying to get some sort of record? The way things are going with your Focus it just does not seem like reality to me.
As to your constant remarks about dickhead mechanics I can only say that if they are as bad as you make out they are, they are not proper mechanics but maybe "self taught " like yourself!!!
All the problems that you have had with your car could have been fixed easily by a time served properly trained mechanic from loads of reputable garages.
No one on this Forum minds helping out with free advice but you have tested peoples patience to the limit. Maybe this has been your plan right from the start!!!!
Keep on doing the repairs yourself up to your very high standards but please dont bore us anymore with the details!!!
