Default Hissing sound when accelerating after serpentine belt replacement, why ?

Just had serpentine belt replaced, been for a short drive and when pressing the accelerator I hear a hiss, what could be causing this ?

Also the car is not blowing hot air from inside , only cold, any ideas on that too ?

I think your heater knob needs turned approximately half a turn clockwise.
Rgds the hissing sound,it's just the serpentine belt getting run in,that's what gives it it's name.

If it isn't the belt then I wonder if you have knocked off a vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold maybe?

Did you accidentally use a snake instead of a belt and the unhappy snake is hissing?

Hi there friend.

No, it's not. I found the cause, it was the inter-cooler hoses weren't on properly and once I tightened them up and pushed them on more the noise stopped, must have been air getting in

Hi there, I have a 1.8tdci 06 plate focus, mine also sounds like an angry snake, could you take a picture of the hose please so I can stop mine sucking air in also.

Did this also fix the cold heaters?

Thanks in advance.

If it was an intercooler leak then it would have been air getting OUT, not in....boost PRESSURE.

hi there.

nope no leaks, was just a inter-cooler hose not on properly, think air was getting in hence the noise, I tightened the hoses and the noise has gone away.

cheers

hi

yup, the heater is now working since the fan belt renewal and the hissing noise has gone away after tightening the inter cooler pipes and ensuring they are fitted on properly.

cheers

If the intercooler hose was not on properly then the boost pressure would leak out. Do you understand that a turbo creates boost pressure to force more air in to the engine??? Air does not leak in...where do you think it was leaking in to? It was pressurised air leaking out
