thank you for your kind reply, are they back street mechanics you have taken it to or main dealers who have got to spend tens of thousands on sophisticated equipment and training?

I should imagine the tensioner is fucked which is why the belt came off in the first place.

And which bit of a metal pipe that was joined together with bits of hose and jubilee clips, designed for carrying 100 degree oil to a red hot turbo is a satisfactory repair? I wouldn't even do that to my garden hose pipe

neither, it's at my home and I was trying to do it but the belt is not staying on, when I push the grooves of the belt into the grooves on the car it falls off the second I let go.

I've been ripped off enough and I actually enjoy fixing my car and seeing how it is all put together.

All the repairs I've done have been done to a satisfactory standard, in fact any problems I've had have been jobs previously done by other people, overall I would say I'm better overall when a repair job has been completed than the so-called mechanics who have ''fixed'' things on it in the past.

cheers

delusional.

Yes there are many very very bad mechanics out there, but every single post on this forum by yourself, advertises the fact you are much less capable than all of those.

its a belt that needs a tension in order to work, its not a magic belt

Some of them you have to warm with a blow torch, abit like heat shrink... they shrivel up to the right size/ tension
