It's let me down

I've got a 2003 1.8 tdci focus and last night whilst driving I noticed the after market radio turn off and on again , I mean went totally black, just thought nothing of it within reason

100 meters up the road doing about 35mph the car just died on me and I mean died. The lights, engine , everything just went off, I've never had this before and it was pitch black up this road, Normally the lights and radio stay on and the engine just dies

Before I've even had time to think what the hell the car just come back to life again, all the needles zoom round and then come back to were they should be

I drove to were I was going stopped and got out. 10 mins later I jumped back in and went to start the engine and nothing at all !!!

All the lights work, radio and central locking but nothing on the key. Not even a click from the starter , but it has to be more than that for everything on the car to die

Any ideas before I go up to were it is and try and sort this mess out
What would cause the car to loose everything ?

First thing and most simple would be to check the battery terminal connections are tight!

Probably a fooked battery. Is it the original?

Well after some testing it was actually the starter motor ! Wouldn't explain why it all cut out. Maybe a surge in power cut everything out resulting in a burn out starter. But no fuses or relays were gone !!! Strange. Until next time fellas.
