MK1 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi lowered suspension and 17"alloys
Hi all
I have just brought a coilover kit for my mk1 1.8 TDCI edge Focus, which I plan to install a 30mm lowered coilover suspension kit and 17" ST170 alloys. I am thinking I may need spacers to prevent the wheels scrubbing. I currently have the standard 16" edge alloys with 205/55/R16 tyres and what I wanted to know is has anyone done anything similar and if so which spacers if any did they use (3, 5, 10, 16, 20mm spacers). Appreciate the tyres I have on are different from manufacturer spec (should be 205/50/R16) and they scrub every now and then bit it was from a time when I have little cash and National had a hug one get one free on the tyres. The actual wheels and tyres I would Ike to put on are the standard multi spoke ST170 alloys with 215/45/R17, does anyone have this setup and if so do I need to go lower profile to reduce the chance of scrubbing. This is my first post and my first go at modding so any help is much appreciated. Stu |
you should be fine with those tyre sizes.
i have a mk2 and went from 205/0/16 to 235/35/19 with no issues, oh and the wrong offset! |
