Default 18TDCI Batt light..

Hi all,Iv searched the net for help on this but cant find any at all,
So im hoping someone here can help me out with some advice,Ok heres whats going on in short.
18 TDCI 115ps.2003.it was a bit of a bad starter when cold, battery would die trying most cold mornings so *new calcium battery fitted* which helped loads by having the power to turn it over long enough, but smoke on start so *new bosch glow plugs fitted* Great the car now starts no smoke ect just perfect, well so i thought...Now after a cold start the battery light stays on! it will stay on till i warm the car(say 2-3mins driving) shut it off and restart it then now battery light and stuff like front windscreen heater aircon ect can be used..Anyone have an idea what is causing this?
Thanks in advance for any input..

its your alternator replacing the spent volts used to crank a high comp engine over.

its normal as the battery only hold 14 ish running, and will worry the ecu at 10and a half volts causing it to go into safe mode shutdown.(gradually removing power to systems,i.e. power steering, brake servo, dials ,etc.

tip

make sure you turn ignition on to warm plugs (yellow coil dash light)
when thats out crank to start.

when stopping,let turbo spool down,with radio/heaters/lights/etc off,

then when you start next day, the battery will have the best power to start.

lets know if this helps!
