Default Fuel consumption TDCi?

I would very much like to hear from you on this topic.
I have TDCi 2005 and the fuel consumption now (temp is 5 to 10°C)
6,7 l/100 km.
Is that normal?
If not, what to do or check?

Thanks!

It would depend on which engine you have. Obviously a 1.4 would be using less than a 2.0 litre engine. If you look at test reports for the car then a 1.8 115bhp is using around 6l/100km and a 2.0 litre is using a little more than 6l/100km - which is a lot more than the factory promesses.

So, appr. 6 to 7 is alright then or normal?

Feul usage sounds a bit high, but it could be down to how/where it is used and the personal driving style. Only city use? or not?
Check brakes. Check tyre pressures. Have the engine checked by a dealer or somebody with a dealer equivalent scanner.

90+% city drive, and tyre pressure, engine all is okay. I have not changes the air filter though, will do so.
But it would be very useful to hear from others TDCI owners, on there fuel consumption....

I'm currently averaging 5.66 l/100km which in imperial is about 50mpg in my Mondeo ST TDCi. That's the 2.2 litre though.

What is the state of your Diesel Particle Filter? Is that regenerated from time to time? Or are the trips you make too short and is the engine management system constantly trying to regenerate the filter (and thereby increasing the fuel usage)?
