Default Air Con not cold, holds pressure, compressor working

Morning,

Decided I would check the air con pressure on my 2008 mk6 zetec s. The guage was a bit below the green zone on my guage, but not empty. I regassed the system myself until the guage was in the optimal zone. The fan and compressor kicked in immediately and sounded to be working as it should.

The air in the cabin is no colder, no matter what settings I try (re-circ etc.) I did notice that the pressure sometimes kicks back below the green zone of the guage and comes back as the compressor does it's thing.

any ideas what to try next? Answers on a postcard.

cheers.

Usually you have to empty the tank and then refill?

I believe the recommended Ford amount is 450 (whatever the unit of measure is) but supposedly it was incorrect and supposed to be 650.

I found this in multiple places via google when I was looking at redoing mine.

Hi to Kwik Fit and see if a regas fixes the problem
If it doesn't then it's free
If it fits then I think it's £50

Take it somewhere that knows what there doing. They can drain the system see how much came out. Pressure test it with nitrogen to see if there’s any leaks. Vac it out then refill it with the correct amount of gas
