Default Coilovers

Got a couple of questions regarding the use of coilovers on a Series 2 RS Turbo.

I am interested in getting myself a set, but have heard in the past the rear of the S2 is not really well suited to the use of coilovers as it puts alot of stress on the rear which it was not designed for, and extra strengthening would be useful if I was to go ahead with some, what are peoples thoughts on this?

What ride hieght do people think is best for "normal" driving? I believe 25mm is meant to be best as any more can give understeer? anyone shed more light on this?

What make would people recommend going for? I was considering getting a set of Gaz coilovers, but was also aware of the AVO coilovers. Anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for any advice

correct me if im wrong, but i didn`t think you could fit coilovers on the rear of a S2 as the spring and shock are separat from each other.

my mate had coilovers on the front of his S1 and had lowered springs and shocks on the back, he had AVO`s on his.

twinkle_2k86, the coilover replaces the spring and shock obviously, so if it come sin one unit then it will fit, to put it simple

The problem on the rear is the turrets are not wide enough, but can be modified with a big hammer or properly by fabricating wider ones

Click the sig - Bilstein direct fit with NO turret mods required

Not GAZ or AVO prices unfortunatly but you get what you pay for in this world.

Tony i want some of these

you say the front comes with spherical bearing top mounts, i already have a pair of these in the loft waiting to be fitted to my RS1600i, would you be able to supply the struts seperately and would they fit my RS16i top mounts? cheers
