Default Roose Zetec hose kit

I've ordered a Roose hose kit for RS2 raditor to fit zetec engine but the water pump part of the hose is in the wrong place. I've probably ordered the wrong one but even so I can't see how a different engine could have it's pump mounted so high.
Before I go back to Roose and ask them I thought it might be worth checking here in case I am being a complete idiot.

The kit I ordered is RMS38C and desc "Escort MK4 With a Zetec Silver Top Engine Conversion Coolant Hose Kit RST Rad".
The silver top engines don't have a water pump mounted so high I didn't think... or do they?

Hi mate. No I didn't. I sold mine on eBay, bit of a waste of time and money in the end. Instead I bought a used standard Samco hose kit and butched it to make it fit. It's not pretty but it seems to be holding. I used various sized connectors and cut it on places to merge it all together.

I'm in the process of talking to Roose Motorsport to see if they can sort it out, as £186 it should bloody fit perfect

Yeah that's fair. I assumed I ordered it for the wrong engine but perhaps it wasn't my mistake. The information wasn't clear enough at ordering though. I just thought I'd not use them again.

Let me know how you get on with them.

Think I've found the problem, have you got a 2.0l water pump cause I've been told you need a 1.8 out of an escort GTi and the outlet is straight out the block not at an angle

Carlitos your engine or at least the water pump housing looks like a BLACKTOP

The SILVERTOP water pump set up is totally different.

Engine is ST170 with a blacktop head on it.
My first thoughts were I bought the wrong hose kit but the waterpump hose is so high it was up against the manifold. It was only a bit lower than the coolant tank.
I can't imagine how a water pump could be that high on any engine which fits in a mk4.

Thats the same engine I run, the silvertops water pump is between the cambelt, its hose attachment is a little bit higher from memory and is also a lot closer to the block.

I made my own hose for mine, using a Samco and some additional joiners and silicone hoses.

That's exactly what I ended up doing, red Samco hoses, cutting them up with some joiners/reducers. Not pretty but it works. I just need fit a different clutch and it should be drivable again.

It's difficult to tell but it looks like the hose still wouldn't fit on the silver top. Unless the engine is smaller or mounted a lot higher. On my ST170 engine the hose aligned around where the block and head meet.
