Zetec turbo with jenvey inlet manifold
Hi all
i am in the middle of a 2.0L blacktop zetec turbo build. PEC rods and pistons. T3 turbo and run by omex 600.
I am wondering if there will be much of a difference between using the RST EFI inlet manifold which i already have or to use a Jenvey intake manifold ( costs about AUD$3500 ) ?
i am upgrading my BC gearbox also with a Quaife LSD and full rebuild.
Do you think 300 hp is too much fpr that box ?
Is it over kill having a gearbox like that and potentially way more HP available ??
TIA 👍

10K+ Poster!!
I expect the jenvey would possibly give better throttle response and maybe better at high power but if you can get away with standard it might allow funds to be used elsewhere on the car.
I am considering the large roller barrel cossie one for my 2.2 stroker

PassionFord Post Whore!!
My Zetec turbo chewed BC gearboxes. 1 lasted about 500 miles. Another lasted 3 years. After ending up in the hard shoulder of the motorway I decides to fit a Focus Rs gearbox.

and due to where my turbo is mounted i couldnt run the mtx75 brackets .
and the 6 speed getrag box used in the st and the mini cooper s !
after 12 years at bmw parts i can tell you the mini cooper s box 6 speed getrag breaks fine at 167 bhp on a 1.6 mini cooper s .
over and out

I broke bc box twice in a week running zetec turbo 280 bhp 300lbs , both times stripped every tooth off the crown wheel and pinion, they were brand new ford items as well , second time it looked like they had been machined off they were that smooth lol. I drove like a twat thou. It was also fitted with a quaife diff.
Not bad really Ł500 in a week and a bag of bits
Cheers paul

Dont supprise me at all mate , ive done them myself on a high compression xr3i turbo in 30 mins 😂
but then ive had others last years , so hit or miss really and mine have allways been on road , not track cars . While its working i wont be fixing it i know that my car is at 411 foot pound of torque and touch wood the gearbox is ok so far , i am nice.to it in lower gears tho to be fair
