Default I知 back in a Escort

Hello people I have been on here before as rsmark86

Been away from the scene for years and just purchased a xr3i rs turbo, want some advise before my stupidity gets me into a project rather than an upgrade

I’m running a stage 2 hybrid that has hit 238bhp @jamsport, I want more so should i?
Stage 3 hybrid.48/55 or .48/60 ?
Cosworth t3 or t34? With new downpipe?
Mamba gtx2860 with crazycage manifold (this means a lot of other upgrades)

Spec is
Forged bottom end
Newman phase 4
Solid lifters
Ford valve springs
Efi head
Modified efi inlet
Vxr injectors
Cossie pump
Gotech mfi
Helix paddle with mk6 pedal
Airtec cooler and rad
Stage 2 TT hybrid

And all the cars supporting mods etc

I’m thinking just fit, double valve springs, vernier to get the timing perfect, stage 3 hybrid.48/55, and back to jamsport for hopefully 260+bhp

Thing is i had a golf 1.8t that had a gtx2860 turbo that made 380bhp and then ran out of fuel, the car was epic on the road with so much punch and pull

What do you all think ?

Attached pics

I have been thinking about going zetec as I loved my last one

But mines a running driving car that I can simply bolt a bigger turbo to and get mapped, meaning no real hard work

Springs swapped and a cosworth Turbo with a swept exhaust would be my choice really opens them up

Cheers for all the replies lads

I知 thinking get the boost wacked right up on the next remap and then start collecting parts to go full zt and gtx2860?

Working it out the stuff I could sell off it now would pay for the engine with ease to big spec

Then will need a better ecu and turbo set up

Shame about changing your username tbh!

I'm glad the car hasn't gone down the full RS turbo replica. The tailgate 'turbo' bit is a nice addition while keeping with the XR3i theme, as with keeping the red trim.

I'd like to see 15' Cosworth Lattice alloys to keep it looking more XR3i. Of course all up to you.

Yeh shame, I couldn稚 get into that account sadly, lost the email address too

Yeh going to leave it as is, maybe some wheels that stand out but not Ford, something different

More worried about getting some more boost 😂

I wouldn稚 mind the ST170 especially when you can get a plug and play ecu these days for it

Needs to have my favourite turbo fitted a gtx2860, it痴 an awesome fast road turbo, 400bhp with naff all lag
Super responsive

I wanted another rs but I知 not paying 10/12k for a decent rs turbo

I致e had 4 cosworths over the years and I wouldn稚 pay 30k for one of them either, shame really when I miss mine like 😠 mad

I got a good deal on this and it痴 nearly the sort of spec I壇 want, just needs more boost lol

Nice car Mark. I've got an ST170 engine that's only ever been on a dyno doing nothing!
