Default radiator touching actuator

hi just got my car back from being set up and got told I need to sort the rad out as it's touching the actuator. It's an airtec rad with fans inbetween the rad and airtwc fmic. looking around it I need to pull the rad forward roughly 20mm?? anyone had this before ?

Pics would help what part is actually catching
Maybe a case of modifying the bracket for the actuator?
What engine mounts, gearbox mounts you using?

Mapping doesn't involve moving the rad

I had this issue with my radiator aswell I had to pull the rad as far forward as possible to get clearance then I updated the gearbox mounts to vibratechnics ones. Not had an issue since. The standard mounts will be soft if there the originals and as rsmat says the amount of movement is unbelievable compared to the vibratechnics. You may need to make a bracket up like I did for the lh side to pull it forward.

as I tonight I had the fmic off and 're adjusted the radiator and knocked up some new brackets to bring it forward so clears he actuator by 15mm. tbh when it was with jano he updated me all the way through and sorted a couple of things he noticed that I hadn't. only thing is a pain is I took it out for a quick run soon as it got dropt off and it bangs and pops just as boost is going to come on to boost so I presume I'm going to have to get it on a rolling road or something jano said ? just about tedious really as I just want to use it whilst the sun's here before it gets stored for winter

Take it to MSD you won't be disappointed. I was going to go to jano but after the mess about I had just trying to buy some bits off him I thought I'm not going to bother. Took it to msd instead had a good day there and my cars been perfect since.

There is a lad who comes on here called James Ainsworth think his user name is Piston broke he is in Yorkshire somewhere a lot of people on the Rs and Ford pages on Facebook are speaking well of him.

There is also Karlos G user on here who runs Frenzy Performance Tuning in Sudbury, Suffolk.

I dunno if any of them would be any easier for you to get to.

depending on what turbo your running (eg t34) t3 etc the bracket will hit the rad iff your running a diff intercooler and rad set up . its as simple as moving them forward or undoing the snail on the turbo housing and turning it round to clear , no need to go to any one for this is there ?
you can also buy various different actuator brackets or have one made up, and i belive janno can map as well as any other
and yes i had to move my rad forward and intercooler when i fitted a t3/04e from the usa originally some years ago on the standard s2 exhaust manifold not unusual if your running a bigger turbo , as u need to use the spacer flange on the 4 stud flange to space the turbo away to stop it hitting the manifold , this obviously pulls it forward closer to the rad

Just to clear this up. I didn't get to even drive this car. From memory there was an issue why it couldn't be driven hence I could only get it running in static form. (I'll check my messages and notes on computer) Which it done very well and had no issues. However the car was completed to a point he could get it working and ready for an MOT (settings were perfect to pass emissions) or something along them lines. He was told that it must return to me before being driven in anger, when it can be driven, to finish off the tuning on boost and road. So as far as I was aware it was due to come back once it was road legal. Looking back if I had of driven it i would of wrecked the rad, if customer wants to fix this himself which I have no problem with then come back when it's done. Just like I said, he has also paid to have it checked when it returns from being fixed. So wouldn't even cost anything to complete. I don't want people to get the wrong idea, as if I would let a car go that didn't drive properly or had issues. My task was completed within the budget the customer set, it was now down to him to get it up to scratch to use. As jonny said I kept him upto date all the way through with pics and info to a point where he said he would do the rest. I offered to remove front end and fix it just like the hundred's before it, obviously going over budget is where it stopped. I have no problem with him at all and welcome back anytime to complete the job.

the main issue for me was purely costing me 300 to get my car to and from jano. so when work is needed I have to cater for that before I even tho k how much things will cost mate
