Default wolf in sheeps clothing options mk4?

Hi can anyone please tell me what engine swaps are the easiest to
do to a mk4 escort...?
The car is a 1.6 auto but I have a rst lsd gearbox if that helps...?
I'm not looking to do a cvh zvh fiesta or escort rs swap because
I would need a donor car and they all cost around the £50,000 mark
I suppose I could get one for around the £20,000 mark but it would
need to much work...
Any advise is appreciated..
Thanks

2.0 Zetec is the simplest, what are you wanting from it?

Use a ford RS2000 N7A from the mk 5 / 6. Fits the rst gearbox only needs a fuel pump and you just need to connect a few wiring

easy and cheap.

If I were you, I'd go with an ST170 engine on an RST gearbox.

Plenty of scope for upgrade to turbo as you go along and it's 170BHP out of the bag.

Default .

The rs box will fit on the 170 block but think you have to cut the excess webbing off the sump for the starter what management do you plan running is it going to be na or turbo

Just stick with a blacktop in it, simple kinda bolt in job on an IB5, even a basic turbo conversion will poke over 200bhp on a stock bottom end.
