Default Escort Rs S2 engine Swap from Italy! Help

Hello i have destroy my original S2 engine from 1986 , with 200.000 Kilometer.
In my country it's very hard to find a 1.6 cvh turbo engine. Can i swap with another ford engine?
it is not necessary to install a turbo engine , I just even a simple aspirated engine

Buon giorno

In inglesa a popular choice is ZVH which you can build using cvh and zetec - someone will explain how this can be done.

Can you still find RS turbo in Italia with no rust? In the UK all our cars suffer from rust badly compared to Italian old cars.

Ciao, sorry guys For talking the Italian lingo only..
Basically he has a buggered engine and needs to replace it.
Yes mate, I'm in Rome. I don't use Facebook though..
Ask whatever you want in this forum, that way other users can chime in and help.
Almost forgot, I've emptied my inbox so if you want, use that for messages too.
Cheers-Andrea.

ciao bel !

hi mate!
as far as i know, you could use any cvh or 1.8 or 2.0 silvertop or blacktop.
the g'box bolt pattern shouldn't change, but i can't talk by direct experience.
also the engine mounts should be a direct fit.

first zetecs are an evolution of the cvhs, so the mechanical block connection are the same...

if you want to keep your flywheel and clutch kit, you may have to drill out the flywheel holes. i had to do the same, while swapping a cvh with a silvertop on my sierra.
...link...

you just need a sane donor with complete loom and ecu.
don't trash any of the old engine...

yes, as far as i've seen, up there you have a lot to struggle with rust.

down here you can find rusty cars just because they just weren't loved too much by their owner.
even near the sea or on the alps they just need a little maintenance, (but some fiat and alfa could need more).

if they had been in my hereabouts, a lot of car i've seen in this forum, they would've been just trashed...
very sad seeing lots of interesting car being dumped for just some holes.
but the manpower's hours taxation are too severe in here, so economically they aren't worth the restoring.
and the people mentality awfully follows...
that's what i see...
