Have you changed the coolant temp sensor on the back of the inlet? Do you have a chip fitted?

Gem frst 02-08-2016 08:22 PM

Yes changed the coolant sensor and no chip fitted does smell bit rich

no chip but a 3 bar map sensor wont help

Gem frst 02-08-2016 09:38 PM

Would a 165 chip be Ok or does it need to be 195

Right few have said 3bar and no chip is the problem can anyone explain why ? And any chips avaliable any where?

Back in the day I had a similar problem with my FRST, ended up at Turbosystems where they sorted it no problem..........believe it or not it was all down to dodgy supressors that Ford decided to put on everything to stop radio interference - different car when these had been removed and to be honest made no difference to radio reception at all.......think the main offender was one on the map sensor if memory serves me right.

Had this fault before. Sounds like the map sensor filter, you have to get the resin of the back off it to get to the 3 solder joints and re flow them. Once done re set base co to 0.70 .
