won't idle when cold???

My s2 have just had a new head gasket, and it ran perfectly the first two days..
But now... when it fires up, it either hunts between 400-1600 rpm.. or it just cuts off unless i keep the foot on the pedal and keeps it at around 3000 rpm.. but still runs rough.
it does any of the abow, until its warm, and then idles fine.. it does not seem to have a leak from any of the hoses, and all the plugs are connected correct.. i have also tried unplugging the cold start valve, but then it wouldn't start..

Pleas help, i have no idea how to get this sorted??

Cheers.

Have you had the fuelling and timing (cam&ignition) checked over/setup since rebuild?

If you had the head skimmed when doing the HG then this will have altered cam timing slightly. Easily sorted with a DTI/Vernier.

The Whole ignition system have also been changed recently, and Yes the timing have been set

Ignition system changed to what?
And Cam timing set correctly or just set to dots on the head/lower pulley cover?

Not changed in that matter, but old parts replaced with new :)

Far fetched, but you've not got a blown heated seat fuse/removed it?
Its not a heated seat fuse really, Its a fuse to deliver fuel upon cold start.

What you have described is the symptoms of what I've mentioned,

I know about the "heated seats" fuse, it's not that either :/
