It is a very nice car..
As far as we know,it's the only one in Europe with a V6 on the registration papers.
(Yes,it has been checked by the Dutch DVLA,as that's required after heavy modding)
Just too bad i can't convince him to take it on the track.
He is afraid it will break down and we can't get it back to home (the Netherlands)
I have got recovery(in the whole of Europe) in my insurance, but my car is just 2 years old..

He is coming all the way from holland??
That is one hell of a drive in a MK2 Escort!!
I used to live right on the border near Roermond and driving back to the uk in a jag was arduous!

Yes,we always drive together to FordFair.
(Although Utrecht is a lot closer to Dunkerque as Roermond tho)
Just hope we don't get lost on the way to the hotel.
We always get separated after leaving the ferry,so it's really hard to arrive at the same time.
It's doable, just the traffic around Antwerp is a mess.
Just hope it takes less than an hour this time to get through it.
Really looking forward to it.
Got 2 tracktime sessions booked,so i'm going to give my car a bit of a workout

Thats wicked dedication! Yes Roermond is about as far away as you can get before skipping the border
Do you go over the antwerp ringroad? I took the wrong turn there once when i was tired and didnt have sat nav. Took me about 2-3 hours to get back onto the right road :/
Tracking your car is very brave! Shall i bring some tools?

We have to take the Antwerp ring,as there is no easy way around it..
Don't think i'll need tools.
My Fiesta is still quite standard..
(Milltek exhaust and open airfilter are ready to be fitted, then a trip to the chiptuner again to top it off..)
Now is @ 121 hp ,should go to 140 hp
Not bad for a light little car.

Fords are reliable cars.
In 20 years if driving them i only once had a breakdown.
(Busted fuelpump on my then 15 years old Granada)
Compare that to 2 years driving in a Golf mk2...
(That broke down a lot....)
Since the Golf debacle, never had a problem .
So that's when i needed another car it was not the brand, but the model to choose from.
Since i wanted a turbocharged one,the choice was between a Focus or a Fiesta.
Never regretted choosing the Fiesta
Also don't expect the old mk2 escort to have any problems.
It has made the trip twice already..

I have no time for german cars, even old ones. I havent driven my escort for more than a couple of hours at a time and it seems fine but i dont think i would chance a journey like that in it unless i could have regular cool down stops

I would love to get my RST there but will need to get it recovered there as won't be running in time but will have my new management on there by then. I'll be coming in my focus rs, might get some pics of my escort and put them in the windows

I think my mrs is more looking forward to it than i am! Which is saying something. She's just found a set of RS7's so they'll be getting put on soon. And hopefully i'll have a new clutch in time
